Subject: [MV] AFKX-352 comes home

Well for those that remember the AFKX-352 11/2 ton GMC shop
van found in
a nearby location to myself, I am happy to announce that it
has reached
its home. I have had an interesting experience with this
thing. I didn't
realize how big this thing was until I tried to move it. It
is really
big for me.

I have had many failed attempts to move this thing under 20
miles. These
attempts include many rained out weekends, can't move in the
muddy
field. I have also forgotten about equipment I needed to
move it. I have
been out of town. I get back in town. Schedule a time with
my friend to
move it. It rains or he has a schedule conflict. I also had
to borrow
equipment and tires that are not flat. All of these things
would have
been a lot easier to do if it were a jeep. :-)

I have found out some interesting things about the truck to
my
disappointment. The transfer case is gone. The engine is
also not
original. It has a different rear end. I believe I found the
original
engine (or at least the 248 that was in it) half buried in
the ground.
It has a GMC embossed stamp on it with a number that I don't
have off
hand. I don't think it was the engine serial number. I will
get it and
post it to see what you all think. I also don't think this
engine is any
good being half buried in the ground for at least 34 years.
Well, I just
wanted you all to know that it has made it.
