I had a nylon sling(tree saver) break on a doubled over cable pull with a snatch block on the sling. The snatch block(pulley) and about 100 feet of cable shot past my truck in a heartbeat. Fortunately I was standing on the opposite side of the truck. My 9000# winch wasn't even close to stalling. I now use a coat or an old blanket over the cable.
