OK everybody, I move that we table this topic for a few days and everybody who
emails go ahead and email their Senators/Congressmen (and anybody else they
want to contact) for information about what is going on inside our government
concerning militaria, whether it is dangerous or not.
1 Be professional, don't sound irrational, uneducated, or obnoxious.
2 Use your spell check, for pete's sake, or have somebody proofread!
3 Write a couple of drafts before you send one.
4 And finally, report back here when you get answers from "authority" as
opposed to jr aide to the jr aide to the assistant.
Several of us are going to make contacts, I already said I am going to try to
set up a meeting with Mr McMann this week. I know a couple of lobbyists, and
NRA headquarters is on the way to work, so I have lots to do. Does anybody
else know people to contact? Contact them. Whether we win or lose, we still
need to make the system work for us.
The National Government ain't what it should be, but doggone it, it could sure
be a lot worse than it is already. I love my country!
The guy who recommended tying in with the NRA may end up being absolutely
right. CAF, NRA, MVPA, DAR (ok, maybe not) may have to join forces to be
heard. I suspect the NRA has the numbers, and the CAF has the cash. We only
have our dashing good looks, charm, wit, and pleasant humility.......
Semper Fidelis! Mike in VA
