I just recieved notification today through official channels that I have
been award a branch transfer as a Sanitary Engineer in the Army Medical
Corp. As a result, I have to resign my commission in the USAR and be
recommissioned in the AMEDD (Geneva Convention type stuff, non-combatent
etc.) as a result, drum role please......
I will be a 1st LT again.
Just had to share that one with the group. I have worked for this
transfer for a long time and am happy. Is kinda' ironic though that with
a Doctorate, 5 years as a Captain and being before the board for Major,
AMMED is making me an LT, AGAIN.
I knew that you guys who have retired and remember some of the whacky
stuff the military has done would appreciate this. I have to confess
though I am a little disappointed in the military. I had really hoped
that the transfer ans "promotion" would go into effect last month while
I was at CAS3. I wanted to hold the distinction of being the only guy to
go in as a CAPTAIN and come out a LT. O'well, believe it or not it is a
good career move even though, MAJ Rice might rase and eyebrow. I'm
thinking, I'm going to be the Lowest ranking member of our class at the
15th Year class reunion.
