All, I just spotted a WWII (?) wrecker described as follows: 6x6, It
looks like an IHC body. The front fenders are flared like a WC, hard
top, the windshield is like a GMC (slanted back and 2 piece) The boom is
mounted on a turn table over the duals, the turn table is moved by 1"
cable from turn blocks on either side powered by a Case (?) 4 cyl gas
donk motor mounted on the drivers side behind the cab. Looked like the
boom swung 360 deg or at least 270. The boom had some snatch blocks on
it and was laying over the cab. It looked like someone had scabbed on an
extension to the boom. No outriggers, there were fenders made of plate
over the duals and a deck between the cab and the turntable frame work.
Looks like this truck has been sitting for 5 or six years or more.
dirty, moss covered. A real project. It is located in south Seattle. If
anyone is interested in this vehicle I will help procure. E-mail me
direct tks Dirt Man.
