Sean,

Start by making the point that is was an operational NG vehicle--not a
demilled antique--stolen from a government, i.e. military--base, by a former
tanker, i.e. someone who would have the knowledge necessary to steal it.

Points:

Was not a collector's vehicle,
Was not an essentially helpless demilled antique,
Was not taken by just anybody but by someone who knew how to do so.

IOW, the two situations have little in common besides the word "tank" in
their descriptions.
