[MV] USMC markings for M38A1

I am about ready to paint my restoration project. It is a '52 M38A1, and
while I might not be historically accurate, I would like to mark it in a
manner that would honor and represent what my father-in-law used during his
service time.

He was a medical corpsman, attached to the 1st battalion, 1st Marine
regiment, 1st Marine division during the Korean conflict. He landed with
them at Wonson, and traveled up to, and back from, the Chosin Reservoir.

I know very little of how to mark a jeep, so excuse me if I ask dumb
questions. I understand the Marine jeeps were OD green, but had yellow
markings, instead of white. Is this all of the markings, including the
stars?

I assume the hood is marked "USMC" along with the hood number. How many
digits in a hood number?

Bumper markings?

Any help would be appreciated.
