Hello Everybody,
First
Is anybody coming through Mississouri to Aberdeen MD in May, or even close by
and soon? I am trying to get some tents here that a generous thoughtful
fellow list guy is selling me (he's reading this so I better butter him up!)
Point is, I priced shipping and it's really expensive so far. Any help or
ideas would be appreciated, I am talking about two or three medium sized tents
here.
Second
If you can make it to Aberdeen Proving Grounds for the East Coast MV Rally
this May, you would be glad you came. It's big enough to be worth your time,
and friendly and sociable, and we go on the Proving Ground test trails -
Pretty cool driving. Good folks, good fun, and parts. It doesn't get any
better than this! Oh, I have to check with the club first, but I am hoping
it's byob too.
Third
I have talked to some of the middle level people in State Dept about the
import thing - they seem to be folks just like us, warm blooded mammals with a
sense of humor concerning Government Regs. Go figure. I plan on having lunch
with at least one guy. Point is, I am hearing that it really IS a couple of
folks at the top trying to "save us from our ignorant selves" and doing the
"big brother" thing. And there is also a legal issue in progress that may
improve our chances. And the import/reimport ban will affect more people
than we first realized. Folks like the Confederate Airforce are in the same
boat, too. Hey, the more allies we have, the better, right? And I got
confirmation about what some of us have been saying, to wit;
make sure to spell them words correcly, check that there sentance struture,
and chose carfuly what you tell them godless comunist sunsabiches who can't
hit there own butts with ether hand and are out to take our guns and jeeps,
and flouridate our whiskey and corrup our young womens, and take our tax money
to boot!
well, you get the general idea. They either won't read it, or you will hurt
the cause that we all believe in. They were DEAD serious. And also
supportive of our point of view, at least somewhat. Like I said, "go figure".
