The latest issue of "After the Battle" says that the Landing Craft used in
"Private Ryan" were sold to scrap dealers after filming was complete. From
what the article said, and I don't have it in front of me, although its only
been out in US a couple of weeks, 10 were Higgins boats made postwar to the
WWII design, and 2 other boats were of British design adapted for the film.
