[MV] Possible salvage operation...

All right, people, got a possible live one...

I may be looking at an excellent opportunity to salvage a Mule from the
Government, and I'm going to need a bit of help from anyone in the vicinity
of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. The Mule has no wheels.

I'm going to need a haul vehicle that can handle a cube 119"X50"X28" at 900
pounds. (Somehow I don't think my Geo can handle hauling a Mule in the
trunk, even if it would fit.

I'm going to need a lifting system that can lift this object from the
ground to the bed of the haul vehicle.

The Mule is going to be transported from the North End of Camp Pendleton to
the city of Orange. I will pay for the haul vehicle's fuel equivalent to a
round trip from Orange to the salvage site and back. (Smart aleck's
showing up with tank retreivers, don't even try... ;) )

I will recompense the salvage team with the standard military unit of
barter (mub) of a case of their favorite brew (don't get exotic on me)
after the operation. (Non-beer drinkers: We'll come up with something
equatable). (Seriously, we will work something out.) There are two Desert
Storm Iraqi trophies nearby you can drool over too, but they aren't for
salvage...

The access route to the site is an unimproived road. You shouldn't need
pioneer gear, but you might want to bring it just in case.

All this hinges on whether the Assistant Chief of Staff, Training and
Logistics wants to work with me, but I wanted to be ready to jump at a
moment's notice. (This will be a legal salvage.)

Interested parties contact me off list for questions, details, favorite
brands of brew, etc.

Thanks,

Bill
