List,

An individual on the list emailed me that he thought I deceived the list
in order to get this M37 for myself. I'm not quite sure why I would have
done that, since I would have just drove 15 miles and bought it and never
bothered the list with a posting. Here is what happened.

I posted the M-37 because I didn't want it. A collector friend of mine,
also on the list, whom I won't name because there is no need to embarrass
anyone, called me about it, then he called the owner who is not a collected
but lives nearby. He made an absolute committment to buy it. The man took
his word and placed it behind the barn and awaited payment which never came.
The man called me a week and a half later, and then I called the "buyer",
who had changed his mind, didn't call the owner back to even let him know he
backed out on a deal. I felt bad for the owner (a nice old farmer man) and
called the owner back and told him. The owner said two men came by with a
wrecker that day and wanted to buy it for a rock quarry business. I didnt
want the truck to be destroyed. I quickly conferred with some friends of
mine who said they'd get together and buy it if I could act on it right away
and help get it fixed up since I mess with these things a lot. So I did.
And so its in my driveway. And so I have the signed title in my posession
and my cash outlayed and my labor and my frustration, all to save a piece of
American military history. And now my "friends" have backed out on me as
well, leaving me with a truck I didn't want in the first place. I guess I
just care too much for mechanical things. Perhaps this explanation will
make you feel better about me. I meant no harm nor dishonesty, and I hope
you never find yourself in this situation. It is frustrating to say the
least. In the mean time, I'll do everything in my power to make it more
marketable. And if no friends or family want it then, I'll sell it. In the
mean time, I'm enjoying it a lot. Hope this helps and I do apologize for
what may appear as something it is not.
Thanks,
Brent brent@multipro.com
