Also, a lot has to do with the intended use of the truck. If it is going to
be worked, off road, where it MUST run every day, I'd buy one from a
rebuilder like Memphis Equipment. Payroll for idle employees and lost income
would quickly eat up the difference in price. If it is a toy, then its
another deal. By the way, the freight charges on hauling two standard length
trucks is not much more than hauling one, so if storage is not a problem, I'd
seriously consider buying a second one, maybe a residue truck (I bought one
once for 175.00) and haul it back home to, I got 6 good tires, good sheet
metal and brake parts off mine, and there is still more than 175.00 worth of
good parts on it. If you decide to drive your truck back home then this
isn't feasible, and you don't want to buy just the residue.
