In the UK, last time I checked, both the oil companies and the retailler
made 5p on each gallon they sold, (that's about 8c US) out of UKP 3.00
plus. All the revenue goes in taxes, so worry the government instead.
All we really need to do is have large quantities of hydrocarbon fuel
available to burn, but use it very responsibly and as efficiently as
possible (I'll go start the DUKW and take it to work this morning)
Maybe if we banned all non-O.D. vehicles ? 8-)
