Hello list,
I'm just responding to and with Mark Johnson's outlook on the true meaning
of restoring military vehicles. I, myself , just recently purchased a '56
GMC M220, one reason is because I see my Grandfathers eyes twinkle every
time he see's it. He was in the Korean War and drove one of those deuces,
now what I was getting nervous about was when my father visited me for
Christmas and I pulled the truck back in the woods about 200 yards because
I didn't want him to see it, being he was in Viet Nam. To my surprise he was
actually excited to see and drive it. Long story short, that was the best day
I've had with my father for quite sometime. To see him and my grandfather get
glassy-eyed every time they see the deuce. Now dad wants one. Here is the
PRIDE us, so called, young'ns, get a kick out of, bringing the gap together
a little bit closer from the wise and older to the young and naive. Thanks
for your time.
