It's me again. For all of you with the huge gas guzzlers (Gawd luv the=

Tank Corps)... Here's the results of Round one, and the proposal of Ro=
und
Two. Since we have very close ties with the POL industries, I'd like y=
our
opinions..

I received this today, and thought it was worth sharing.=A0 I hear=
d on
=A0=A0=A0=A0 NPR this morning that when word was received about the 4/3=
0 gas-out,
=A0=A0=A0=A0 gas companies simply lowered their prices for that one day=
- how
=A0=A0=A0=A0 lovely.

=A0=A0=A0=A0 Any-who, this is for those of us who can't believe that $1=
0 doesn't
=A0=A0=A0=A0 fill the tank anymore:

=A0=A0=A0=A0 I'm sure you had heard about the "gas-out" on April 30. Wo=
rd spread so
=A0=A0=A0=A0 fast on e-mail that the whole nation knows about it and th=
e media
=A0=A0=A0=A0 picked up on it. However, gas companies weren't scared bec=
ause they
=A0=A0=A0=A0 wouldn't lose sales, since everybody was buying gas on Apr=
il 29 and
=A0=A0=A0=A0 May 1.=A0 So, a Las Vegas radio station has come up with a=
better idea
=A0=A0=A0=A0 to take things one step further.=A0 The radio station has =
suggested to
=A0=A0=A0=A0 boycott a particular company, and refuse to buy from them =
until prices
=A0=A0=A0=A0 get back down to normal. The radio station picked Chevron,=
so in order
=A0=A0=A0=A0 to make this work, you need to stop buying from Chevron un=
til their
=A0=A0=A0=A0 prices become normal again. Maybe a severe loss of busines=
s will force
=A0=A0=A0=A0 them to take action in order to drop prices and regain bus=
iness, which
=A0=A0=A0=A0 will force changes by the rest of the companies across the=
board to
=A0=A0=A0=A0 remain competitive.

=A0=A0=A0=A0 Sick of paying close to $2 a gallon? This can work, but yo=
u have to do
=A0=A0=A0=A0 two things:
=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0 1. Do not shop at Chevron=

=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0 2. Send this on to everyb=
ody you know

=A0=A0=A0=A0 The reason Chevron was picked because they were one of 2 c=
ompanies who
=A0=A0=A0=A0 started this whole thing.=A0 Chevron raised its prices bec=
ause it shut
=A0=A0=A0=A0 down one of its refineries and said that they couldn't kee=
p up with
=A0=A0=A0=A0 the demand. They used the supply and demand theory.=A0 The=
y DEMAND more
=A0=A0=A0=A0 money because they don't have the SUPPLY that its competit=
ors have.

Apologies to the list master, but I thought you might enjoy stirring th=
ings
up a wee bit just to show 'em ye mean business!
