Ed,
You have made something clear to me that used to puzzle me. Now I
see the reason for two wheel cylinders, one per shoe, on my M211
2-1/2 ton truck. One cylinder is at the top and controls the forward shoe
and the other is at the bottom and works the rear shoe. The linings are
the same length.
When I install shoes with different length linings, I always place the
longer shoe on the front side. That's the way I was taught.
