The British Army also used a variant of the P-38. It came with the ration
pack meals and it was about 1/3 bigger, so it was easier to use, but the
drawback was, it didn't "lock" in the closed (flat) position. When attached
to dog-tag chains around the neck, it made uncomfortable wearing, and
dangerous if you fell/tripped/etc.
