LISTERS,

Just a little status report....

M37 running like a champ, starts every time without even any choke. I've
driven it around a bit, and its a lot of fun. Sure attracts more attention
than my '65 Mustang! Heres' what I did:

I have installed the following: (all new)
dist. cap
coil
rotor
points (set at 0.018)
condenser
distr. noise filter
plug wire set (from Army Surplus Warhouse, see MV Magazine...great
prices!!!)
1 new plug to replace incorrect plug
gas is clean, fresh
gas filter is new
oil and filter done
cleaned and gapped all plugs
-All cylinders compression read 105 to 110 psi at cranking speed.
-Blows no smoke.
-Complete carburetor rebuild with a great kit from Midwest Military (John
Bizal). It was really easy, compared to what I expected, and it looks brand
new now. Dipped in carb solvent and returned to perfect finish.
-Found intermittent short in ignition switch that dropped voltage to 8 volts
from 24, too low to fire, but still sparked a little. Repaired the short.
-The Marvel Mystery oil got all the valves working, but crapped out the
plugs. I cleaned them and the engine runs great at all RPM's
-The brakes are back to life, no new parts, just new fluid and a lot of
pumping, bled them free of air.
-Oil pressure reads 25 pounds??
-Water temp sits right on 180 degrees. No leaks.
-Lights work, for the most part.
-Horn works
-Cherry bomb muffler has gotta go. Sounds like a dragster!
-Rebuilt the troop seats with 5/4 lumber.
-Repainted the stars, and other markings, but left the original paint
intact. Looks real nostalgic!
-Lubricated all window regulators and door hinges w/white lithium body
grease
-Ready for full mud trials this weekend....

Thanks for all the good advice from you guys!
