I too just got back from Normandy.... had an excellent time, everyone was
really hospitable - whilst there I picked up a Petrol Wehrmacht jerrycan
dated 1942 for 8 GBP (hopefully a fair price to pay) - it is in good
condition with little sign of rust and holds fuel well... however it is a
lovely faded red colour - I doubt this is original - so what colour would it
have been originally for Northern European operations? I have lots of Olive
Drab paint - so it would be rather convenient if this colour is suitable.
