I have some of the same 5 gal cans with the tan finish inside, got them 34
years ago when were left at an site where the military was hold manuvers in
ark and mo. the lining was chipped and rusty; I put some rust remover in
them and after they had dried mixed some fibergass resin poured in them,
rolled them around to get in all over inside and they were fine for water
containers after that.
