The BAR had a scabbard that was covered on top. It was mainly for use in
vehicles where it was very dusty...Families did not furnish
scabbards...Uncle Sam did. Boyt made most of them. The bolt action
Springfield rifles also had a special scabbard. I have one. Hope this helps
