3/8 (diameter) -24 (threads per inch) NF (National Fine) -3 (class 3
fit) x 3/4 (length)

Note that the CLASS of fit (class 3 in this case) is NOT to be confused
with the strength GRADE, which is not specified in this example. The
class of fit relates to how "sloppy" the fastener fits on/in its mating
fastener. I would imagine the stated application would call for a grade
5 bolt, or higher (stronger).
