you cannot drill easy-outs.......... they are very hard as you now
know........
the easiest way to do this is to use a cutting torch to blow out the old
pieces.
this may sound scary, but the head is cast iron which does not like to
cut with
a torch. anyone with some experience should be able to do this. while on
the
subject, have you ever been unable to drill or tap an exhaust manifold??
this is
because it has become hard. heat up the area of the studs red hot (very
red) and
then let it cool down slowly using the torch at greater distances. this
should take about 5 minutes, then let it cool slowly by itself. it will
then be soft again......
