Does throttle setting have anything to do with it? I assumed (maybe
incorrectly) that if you have the throttle open more you will have more air
getting into the engine and with less vacuum in the carb you should have
less gas getting sucked in, but then I never discected a mule carb to see
how similar or different they are from others.

The funny thing is, with all my pulling on the cable start (pretty fast I
might add) there wasn't even a hint of a running, yet when we pushed it down
the parking lot not very fast at all (in 3rd High), it started right away.

I suppose another possibility is that the impulse coupling in the mag died,
but the engine was new, I'll have to listen carefully next time I start it!
