List,
My M38a1 was purchased inexpensively due to the fact that it was pretty
much only a frame, axles, and body. The only part of the package that
was shot was the front fenders. The tub has minimal rot on the floor
panels. I have to install all of the electrics 12v or 24v. Rest
assured, I have decided to go ahead and do it right the first time with
24v. I'll be happier in the long run, I believe.

BTW- I have joined the MVPA this week, so i seem to be on the right
track! Thanks again for all the advice.
