Knowledgible Listers,

Are the electrics in tanks 24V? I was told that some of them were 48V?

Also on the earlier thread of voltage loss, is this type of voltage loss the
reason that our 6/12/24V systems are refered to as such when the nominal voltage
is actually 7.2 / 14.4 / 28.8? I can contribute that on large grey floating
MV's we always refered to such things as gennerally 28VDC. Can someone more
electricly inclined than I explain why some mil equipment some as missile
systems and sonar systems run at 400HZ / rather than 60HZ?
I know that European systems run at 50HZ, generally. Could someone e-mail me off
list with these answers as these do get into MV's that are rare in private hands
and push the limits of this list, except for PT boat and Hawk missile system
owners. :)

Never forget that what we have today is the result of the struggles of former
years.
