Outside the discussion over Mr. Gilmore's qualifications and the MVPA's
handling of his case; I'd like to recommend another candidate for the Board
of Directors of the MVPA. Randy Withrow (MVPA #316) is a friend of mine, and
one of the most knowledgable people I have ever met in the MV field. He has
been a member of the MVPA "since its inception." which means forever. He is
working hard to establish the Alabama Center of Military History Museum in
Huntsville, Alabama. I have had the pleasure of seeing at least part of his
personal collection which include the Ford Pygmy (Serial Number 1), an MA
Willys, several later MB's and GPW's, a GPA, Dodge Staff Car, 3/4 ton Weapons
Carrier and Ambulance, and too much armor to list; including two M5A1's, a
Sherman, and a couple fo half tracks.

Randy has always been friendly and helpful in my search for parts, and
knowledge about anything related to MV's. He is a retired career officer
with the US Army (LT. Col. - Artillery), and is especailly familiar with the
"way it works" in the miitary system. From the short biography's of the
candidates, it would appear that only one other candidate has had any
military experience.

I, and I am sure he, would appreciate your consideration of him for the
position.

Tom Campbell - Birmingham, Alabama USA
