Denny,
The sales are held pretty much all around the country. I just bought a
couple at a government sale. It's a good thing I have the tools and
equipment to put them in shape. You take a gamble on the "as is-
where is" purchase. It seems that the motor pools like to swap
defective stuff for good stuff, like batteries, alternators, radiators and
starters to name some things. I have had one late low hours diesel
that was locked-up tight and I had to replace the engine. Clutches,
transmissions and wheel bearing seals are often in need of repair.
If I had to pay the shop prices of $60/hr, I'd really be hurting.
You win some and you lose some. And I'm not saying this because
I deal trucks. It is a gamble.
