As a former fighter pilot, I bridle at anyone who would restrict my rights.

Here in Texas, it is perfectly legal to carry whatever long gun one
wishes --
including machine guns.

I believe in exercising rights. Use it or lose it. If you are afraid of
running a military vehicle around legally with a dummy gun, then you ARE
PART OF
THE PROBLEM!

I drive my Ferrets with LIVE guns.

I have been stopped thrice by police -- twice out of curiosity. They
did not
even ask to see my BATF Form 4. After I told them what it all was
about, it
became "way cool!"

The third time, however, was the most interesting. I took my Ferret to a
neighboring town's jamboree: car show, parade, etc. (wife and son in turret).
That having been done, I drove to a friend's range and ran a couple of belts
through "Mister Happy" (very therapeutic!).

On the way home, with turret in trail, I stopped in my home town for fuel.
While I was refueling, a man in a pickup pulled up next to me and started
shouting about "that tank," and "is that gun dismantled! (sic). I was dressed
in civvies. He called the police, showboating in front of the other patrons.
Then he tried to detain me.

The cops came, laughed him off, and sent me on my way. This MORON is a federal
prison guard who is stupid enough to get into a machine gunner's face.

I talked with my sheriff to remind him about the jurisdiction of prison guards
and told him: "If I had been a real 'bad guy', this jerk would have only gotten
half -way though his second sentence, which, by the way was: "Never mind
who I
am." Other action is pending.

Folks, there is no victory in compromise. If you want to be beaten back to
keeping your treasures safe and unobserved in your garages, you will
lose. The
same argument concerning gun control follows into the ranks of anything
military. The bad guys hate us, and they do not want us to have our "manly"
stuff.

Keeping that in mind
