They are being produced in Detroit, MI. and are ONLY available to Gov't
installations. They don't really want to sell one. They want to sell
hundreds on a contract. The reason diesels are not in the Blazers or
pickups is because NO GM trucks are being produced with that option for
1999. Cutoff was in Oct/98. Year 2000 or 2001 will have a NEW style 6.6 TD
being built jointly by GM and ISUZU. This new plant is being built next
door to the old plant that produces 6.5 diesels. (Probably union busting)
ALL GM diesels were/are/will be/being produced in Moraine, Ohio. For the
guy who wasn't sure about the Hummers, The 6.5 TD (turbo diesel) was started
in the 1994 line along with better designed front bucket seats. NA stands
for Naturally Aspirated which means NO TURBO. NO NA's were made after 93.
They are ALL TD's now. Any more questions? Jullian Burke
