The auction is done by Maniheim Services, which is a very reputible
nationwide company,
they handle 90% of my area (west Texas, southern New Mexico)'s sezure and
forfiture sales for the DEA, FBI, BATF and others, as well as fleet sales.
I have bought my 2 current vehicles from them, ( 1991 chevy blazer and a
1988 GMC K2500) and i can vouch for the company.
I checked out the web site, and the list of vechicles range in years from
1985 to about 1988, with some of the VIN's being very low #'s Is it
possible that these trucks are being retired after close to 20 years of
service? If i'm not mistaken (and i'm sure someone will correct me if i am)
Those were the first years of actual operation for the HMMWV, and this could
be the first of many sales ofthese machines to the public as they have been
selling surplus jeeps and MV's for years... I hope so
