Things come to mind; as I have done this to a fuel tank. FIRST - Be sure
that the sealer you use in compatible with Methyl Alchool - We get some in
todays gasoline / we might not know but we do. I plugged hole in question,
then when material dried started with small drill bits and careful cut the
stuff out or the hole. I relined some Gas cans this way - and just this
week found one in my shop that had been setting with gasoline in for at
least 15 years. The gas was not anygood - cleaned oil bath air cleaner with
it. but the can was in perfect condition and had been rusted bad when I put
the epoxy in it.
I know you do not understand how a can could set 15 years without being
moved - but you have not see my shop. (big smile)
