Stock, the M715 does not have locking hubs, they are full time. There
are aftermarket totally manual hubs available. (milemarker) I believe
that the Frontier should really be auto hubs with a manual 4wd shifter.
Manual hubs are just that, you get out and have to turn the lock ring to
engage disengage each hub. Having to backup indicates an auto or
semi-auto hub.
