I own an ex Norwegian army Dodge WC51 (3/4 ton weapons carrier). I have
just checked the
various layers of paint for colors and markings. This is what I found:

Layer 1:Olive Drab

Layer 2:Dark blue, with illegible remnants of yellow markings.

Layer 3:Light grey. This paint is on the front end, but not on the bed.

Layer 4:Olive drab. On this layer, the number "A8470" was stencilled on the
right side
of the front bumper. This number was also punched on the Dodge plate on the
glove
compartment door, behind the field "model".

Layer 5:Norwegian army green.

The truck also had a plate indicating it had been rebuilt in Germany in
1955.

Any ideas as to what these colors and markings may indicate, especially the
"A8470"?
