I would say from past shows that many vendors will be set up by mid afternoon on Thursday. This is the best time to snatch up the bargains although I think the show isn't "officially" open till Friday. Scott Sebring says there are 200 swap meet spaces sold! It's a great show and we always have a great time.
I will be leaving Detroit on Wednesday with a truck full of tech manuals and a trailer load of junk (whoops, I mean "valuable surplus merchandise") and should be set up on Thursday am. I would like to invite any of the fine people on the list to stop by and say hi. Love to talk about Ford MV's (esp. GP's) too! I will be set up along the road that runs parallel to the swap meet area (Hap Arnold Blvd).
