[MV] Indian MAHINDRA

I can only contribute, that Mahindra Jeeps were also sent semi finished and
crated
to Germany and were assembled and fitted out in East Germany after the Iron
curtain
dropped in 1989 for a couple of years. I believe the production line was
later closed
in the mid 1990ies...

Can anyone supply a picture of the MAHINDRA MB copy ? I have never heared
about it and was of the oppinion that only CJ 3Bs were built in India...

Many of the Jeep books address the issue of licence built Jeeps worldwide, but
none of them is complete or detailed enough in my view...

Maybe the "LIST" could help to establish a more complete picture ?

Jeeps were / are, as far as I know, build in

- Korea
- Brasil
- Philipines ?
- Japan ?
- The Netherlands (NEKAF - M 38 A 1 copy)
- France (SOFIA / Hotchkiss / WO France MB/CJs)
N.B. the last production of MB blocks was, I think, in 1984 !!!
- Spain (former Hotchkiss production - CJ 3 B)
- India (Mahindra) - (Germany)
- Israel (Israeli Automotive Industries, various CJ Models)
- China (copy of Cherokee !)

- pleased to hear re. types, modifications, total production, history...
