[MV] M151 Starting Problem

I once had a M151A2 which when started cold, it seemed to start fine. When
parked for about 5 or so minutes, it would crank and crank and never start.
Disconnected fuel line to carb and no fuel when cranked. Thought ah-ha,
fuel pump bad. Nope! Found out that the pickup tube inside the fuel tank
was about 4 inches above bottom; therefore even when tank was one half full,
it was the same as empty! The pickup tube had a black plastic snout on it
which may have been bent down but instead, slid on a 7" piece of 3/8" fuel
line which drooped down to the bottom. May not be Kosher but never had any
more starting problems! Julian Burke
