I thought that you might like to hear the results of my replacing the rear
springs with a take-out set of front ones.
In a word, Excellent!
Handling feels vaguely stabler and the wheels have attained a look of
near-vertical normality. The level look of the vehicle from the side takes
some getting used to, as does the "new" driving position, i.e. looking "up"
instead of "down". If anyone is thinking of doing this to their A1, feel
free to contact me for an update as time goes by.
