Dear Jim and Fellow MVPA members and list members:
I came back Sunday after a week plus of quality time on Cape Cod, MA
( Otis ANGB) and my mailbox runneth over with MV postings -- (didn't want to
miss any thing). Talked to Kay before I left and did the max renew on
membership. I'm in for the duration plus 6 months. That said....
Jim , going on your opinion ( see snip , below) of Mr. Holland's
feelings...

Lets say you and some close (inner circle type) buddies are on a
trailride and park your pristine M whatevers under an overhang to wait out a
small storm. While parked , a few pebbles and a little dust fall on your
head. This happens several times in a couple of minutes. When you look up ,
you can see a large pile of loose shale tailings over head. In the distance,
someone who you have'nt met before but is wearing the same type of club hat
is yelling " Hey , Mr. H------ ya better move cause that stuff above ya is
starting to shift !!!!" Behind this unmet person are many others , yelling
, " Hey , You guys, ya better do something fast or you'll be sorry " and
other such sentiments. You decide, " Humm, They probably want my parking
space to weather out the storm. If WE were really in any danger, that bush
would burst into flame and a voice from above would tell me to move or I
would have recevied a registered letter (Return receipt requested of
course ) telling me of the possible dangers. And damn it's hard to think
with all those peculiar rumbling noises. You ignore them. ..... Cut to 11PM
news story concerning recovery effort for landslide victims...
Jim , if your assesment of the situation is true and the folks at
the top are that much out of touch with what this list represents ... Well,
I hope they got the shovels handy. Because God has more important things on
his mind and the Postal truck got stuck down the road a piece. A warning is
warning no matter how it is recevied.

Regards to all,

Ron

the MVPA anymore now--- the hobby is supposed to be FUN !!!!)

President Lee Holland two days ago about the election controversy, hoping
that we could come to a solution (more on this in a separate posting) In
the conversation he did say that HQ was sending him copies of the postings
and noting if the sender was a MVPA member or not. If not, the posting was
discarded and if the sender was a MVPA member it was retained. I gathered
(my opinion here) that he is not pleased with the postings and the mil-veh
list and that e-mails did not have the same impact that an actual letter
would have<snip>

complaint about the job the hard working staff (Kay, Krystel and Tracy) at
MVPA HQ do their job. They are the true backbone of the Association and
without all their hard work the MVPA could not function! <snip>
