[MV] Restoring knackered data plates.

Hi List,

I found myself with a dilemma today when I picked up the seriously manky,
paint layered data plate that I had removed from the vehicle prior to
restoration.

There was just no way this piece of junk was going back on my Dearly
Beloved but the MFG. Serial Number is what the Thai authorities had used as
a body number (oh well), so did I get one of them funny repros with the
Mickey Mouse contract number? I couldn't bring myself to do
that...........and then I spied a can of Brasso at one end of my desk.

Two hours of careful scraping and the deft application of Brasso in
industrial quantities and I have an obviously old and worn but very clean
and presentable data plate. Worth thinking about.
