While not in Columbus, nearby (relatively, based on where you call home) are
some things of interest.

In Dayton, OH there is the US Air Force Museum, which has many superbly
restored or preserved MV's on display. Most have wings, but some travel on
wheels.

Adjacent to Dayton is Fairborn, OH, home of James Welty's Ohio military
museum.
Couple of Shermans, a Pershing, Duster, High Speed Tractor, 8" Howitzer, APC,
couple of halftracks, 50 or so wheeled vehicles and a lot of other neat stuff
too. Very friendly, but you need to call to arrange tour in advance.

Down the road in Cincinnati is the Museum Center, just off the interstate and
housed in the spectacular art-deco former Cincinnati Union Terminal, it
features are very large exhibit concerning WWII on the home front in
Cincinnati, which was a major defense manufacturing center at that time.

Not precisely what you were looking for, but I hope it helps,
David Doyle
