Thanks for the advice y'all have given me. I even got a lead on some
available hangar space in which to store and work on a truck for the
next year or so! I plan to check out the trucks at the nearest two
DRMO sites as soon as the inspection period begins.

I have another question for the group. Rabid purists should skip the
rest of this message (hmm, I guess that means I shouldn't read what
I'm about to write... :-):

Are there any recommended on-road tire replacements for the 9x20 NDTs
on M35A2 trucks?

If I get a truck with good tires, I'll probably leave them alone, but
if I have to replace the tires, I want to use whatever will give me
the best service on the highway. I don't expect to do much (if any)
off-road driving in the next year or two; I mainly just want to move
all of my junk from the People's Republic of California to Sunny
Arizona in about a year, and use that as a justification for buying a
big, soot-belching green truck. ;^) I also don't intend to win any
show competitions any time soon. I like to keep my green radios,
rifles and trucks as original as possible, but I'll make concessions
in the name of safety or practicality sometimes (especially if the
modification is reversible and doesn't damage the
radio/truck/whatever).

Please forgive me if this has been covered recently. I started to look
in the MIL-VEH archive, but it doesn't make it easy to search all of
the back issues for a particular topic, since everything is broken up
by months.
