I believe my M-series 3/4-ton saw service in Korea. I was stopped years ago
in my V41/M37 by a man who (if I believe his tale) claimed he had purchased
it at Oakland Army Depot (CA) on it's arrival after the Korean conflict. He
identified it by the fact he had them remove/swap the utility body for the
M37 cargo box at the time (being on the long frame it left a space btwn cab
& box). Said he'd built the wood platform in that space & recognized his
handiwork. Ser # 80008233, DoD 15-May-51. I know of only one with an
earlier s/n (Jock Jones', I believe?). Does anyone know for sure if units
were returned stateside from that theater?
