I think it was Colin who posted that they were working on a article for army
motors on WW2 Brit Airborne jeep modifications;

The standard modifications i believe were as follows:

-removable steering wheel
-cut down front bumper
-removal of body handles and pioneer tool hardware
-removal of one or both of the "steps" by the fenders
-spare tire moved to in front of grill
-gun clips added to fenders
-modification of lighting system to one british style b/o driving and moving
b/o marker lights to fenders
-large metal rack on top of hood for extra ammo, or gas cans
-rack in front of grill for extra gas cans
-Tow yoke added to front bumper

This is the pretty standard thought of list of airborne mods as I understand
it, however looking at photos i see some of these modifications were not
done on EVERY airborne jeep, expecially the removal of the steps and body
hardware. some of these mods seem to be common to all airborne jeeps
(removable steering wheel) while other mods were rather haphazard.

Just my two cents
