Fellow Listers not too far from Fredricksburg VA,
Greetings.
Each year sometime between May and October, we hold a small reenactment
and mv rally at the Bealeton Flying Circus in Bealteton VA (just north of
F'burg). We are planning next years schedule. We hold an airshow every
Sunday from May to October ( for the last 29 years). Were this to become a
LARGE Firday through Sunday Rally, it could be a neat photo op due to the
number of military biplanes on the field in correct markings. The
combination of mvs, mv folks, and friendly grass strip airshow (unlike any
you've ever attended, I assure you) might be reallly rather pleasant. Of
course we play big band during the whole event, too.....sort of a low budget
trip down memory lane. I will be posing this question to the club I am a
minor member of as well, along with your responses. We can make this
medium-big, or small, as required, we have some space and will be hosting the
reenactors anyway. This would NOT be limited to WWII, at least not at this
time. Your opinions?? Especially welcome will be suggestions from other
rally organizers about the right way to go about doing this.
I will post something about it later on in the year, or early next year. If
the response is really good, we might do something in the two months left to
us.
Thanks all who respond - Mike Sommer (mike in va)
