Okay SO now we know what the TM's say about the star. The question (in my mind)
still remains , Why the USMC manuals have no mention of the stars ? Apparently
USMC vehicles did have stars in Korea, but so far it sounds like they didn't have
stars elsewhere ? Now like some lister earlier asked: what makes em so special ?

At least over here in Finland they taught us that national symbols are a must ! No
symbols = civilians or then partisans. Civilians = No shoot, Partisans...well
thats another story. If I recall correectly this all is because of the Geneva
convention .

So are the marines then ignoring the rules or do they have a special VIP card (
okay so they do ! ) ? Or is the reason behind the fact that the usmc is/are used
in expeditianary missions with a certain policy ?

I'm just plain curious to hear the reasons, I suspect though that we haven't heard
all of the facts just yet, otherwise this sounds too unbelievable.
