Here's a question for the group, I just picked up a 4244-1 antenna
base for the Shakespear 120 ( AT-1011 ). Does it use the same standard
mounting bracket as the one used for the various VRC-12 bases
( MX -6707/AS-1729, etc) ? It appears to be the same size with a 4
bolt mount. Fair Radio Sales probably has the brackets, just wanted
to see if anyone else ( Hello Buzz! ) was using one of these type
antenna mounts.

FYI, I have the whole 32 feet of mast and a "flat plate" mount -- not
suitable for mobile use, but good for portable. The 4244-1 lets me
use half that length of antenna sections for vehicular use.

As far as Shakespear goes, they make good stuff. BUT it took me a year
to get a Mil catalog out of them -- although I kept asking for the MILITARY
catalog, they sent me about 4 of their CB PRODUCTS catalogs before
they finally got me the right one.... *sigh* As far as prices, I am afraid to
ask them what they want for any of hte accessories for the AT-1011 system. :-)
