the compensator controls the stroke of the rod from the govenor and is a
very crittical adjustment. if you run just diesel it will be just fine.
you will get no more power by changeing anything, it is just a small
engine, only 478 cid. the govenor is already set at more than it should
ever turn given its long stroke. if everything is adjusted correctly the
exhaust temp will be 950 F and the limit is 1200. the lds engines have
more power because the fuel rate is set higher since they have oil
cooling passages in the pistons. get an lds engine and put it in, best
way for more power.....
