Come to think of it, we had two young guys in WW2 uniforms, for sure one was
dressed in a camo jacket, like a German sniper. Nobody paid much attention
other than to look at their stuff for sale, just misc. militaria, but no Nazi
stuff. However, if they were dressed in Class A type SS uniform I think we
might have been bothered.

I still like my idea that all German reinactors wandering around the event
must walk around as POW's with an escort!

Off topic, sort of, but interesting ....FYI Beale AFB was formerly Camp
Beale which was one of the largest German POW camps in the US. It is
located just outside Marysville, Calif. and still has some of the remains of
buildings and artifacts. Locals who worked there described the POWs as not
very soldierly, more likely to fight among themselves and lacking discipline
or self respect. No escapes either.
