I drove one of them in the early 70's. They will indeed float, and will move
forward under their own power, albeit VERY slowly. The water must be rather
calm, but I have seen them survive with 1 to 2 foot waves. The bilge pump
will shoot out a one-inch diameter stream of water about 20 to 30 feet ( the
most fun thing about the bilge pump is filling the bilge with water at the
wash rack and driving around the motor pool shooting water at one's
comrades). The most annoying thing about the Gama Goat is the very loud
engine, which when one is in the water is running at a high and very noisy
speed, which scares the bejeezus out of the fish.
